Based on the autobiographical musical by playwright Jonathan Larson, it’s the story of an aspiring composer in New York City who is worried that he made the wrong career choice, whilst navigating the pressures of love and friendship. Not only that, but he’s writing what he hopes to be the great American musical, and days before he’s due to showcase his work and performance, Jonathan is feeling the pressure from pretty much everywhere. It felt like more of a personal musical. Of course,  based on a full-on true story, it’s a very distinct style of movie as at the end, he’s unable to come up with the next great American musical. So, if you are a musical fan I recommend you to watch Tik, Tik…Boom!. It will surely not disappoint you.
